Anonymous,
As the number of new COVID-19 cases continues to accelerate, U.S. PIRG is leading the charge to protect consumers during this difficult time, and to help our country respond to the crisis.
A strong, organized response to the coronavirus crisis is more important than ever as case numbers continue to rise -- but none of what we do would be possible without the support of people like you.
Double your impact: Until midnight on June 30, your contribution will be MATCHED dollar for dollar by generous donors, up to $10,000 nationwide.
Donate today to help us continue standing up for the public interest.
Since the coronavirus outbreak hit in the U.S., U.S. PIRG and our national network have been hard at work advocating for measures to bolster our country's ability to respond to the crisis.
Together, we're:
- Taking on COVID-19 price gouging. After our partners at U.S. PIRG Education Fund released groundbreaking research in March revealing massive price increases for hand sanitizer and masks on Amazon, U.S. PIRG and our state partners took action. Almost 400,000 people have joined our call for Amazon to implement policies to prevent price gouging before vendors have a chance to take advantage of consumers in difficult positions.
- Working for better distribution of critical supplies. As health care workers across the country struggle to get vital supplies -- including personal protective equipment -- our national network is calling on federal lawmakers to establish central, transparent coordination of the supply chain to get medical supplies directly to impacted areas so that our frontline workers have what they need to combat the outbreak.
- Calling for increased testing. Our nation's inability to test for the coronavirus on a large scale is inhibiting our ability to safely reopen. That's why we're calling on the federal government to ramp up our testing capacity.
With your donation today, you can support our campaigns to protect consumers and better equip health care workers in this time of crisis, and support all of our work in the public interest.
Thank you,
Faye Park President
