Dear John, I am so excited about Green Tie Madison! In less than four weeks, join us at the Overture Center on Sept. 17 for our annual celebration of conservation and the people who make it happen.
People like you, who are deeply concerned about our shared future and who advocate for solutions to our most pressing problems, need a chance to have some fun. These days, joy is an act of resistance. So, we’re all coming to Green Tie Madison! And not just because of the issues we care about (or a shared love of farm-to-table snacks and green shawls and ties), but because we're ready to celebrate some heroes! |
Two of those heroes are Brenda Coley and Kirsten Shead, co-directors of Milwaukee Water Commons, who we're honoring with our 2025 Conservation Action Award.
Brenda and Kirsten have led an intersectional campaign in Milwaukee focused on affordable, safe drinking water and access to clean, healthy water in all forms. Their work elevates racial and environmental justice while making art and culture integral to the movement.
Learn more about Milwaukee Water Commons, their leaders, and their mission. Better yet, come to Milwaukee’s McKinley Beach on Sunday Aug. 24, for their annual We Are Water celebration. All are welcome!

The Wisconsin Conservation Voters team joined MWC on the beach for last year’s We Are Water event. If you’re concerned about water quality, environmental justice, voting rights, clean energy, or all of the above, we’ll be talking about it at Green Tie. Get your ticket today and join us to celebrate Brenda, Kirsten, and our other award winners. |
