Donald Trump lied. Again.
I know, John. Donald Trump lying is unfortunately not news to you or me, but this time, it’s personal.
Trump promised on the campaign trail to expand access to in vitro fertilization (IVF), but now, he’s not following through.
He never had a plan to get it done. He lied and used our reproductive rights as a bargaining chip to get elected. Again.
Without IVF, my husband and I wouldn't have our two beautiful daughters. That is something we cherish deeply, and are so incredibly grateful for — and millions of families across this country wouldn’t have been able to start their own families without it either.
The fact is that IVF is expensive, and many families cannot afford to explore their options without insurance coverage for it. I have worked tirelessly to pass legislation ensuring coverage for IVF, but Senate Republicans have blocked my efforts over and over.
Now, I’ve reintroduced a bill to help our nation’s Veterans access IVF and other tools they need to build a family.
If Donald Trump and Republicans really cared about middle-class families or our Veterans, they would support it. But the unfortunate reality is that they cannot be trusted. So instead, I’m turning to you, John.
The bottom line is that Republican politicians should stop making promises they can’t keep. And they must stop playing politics with women’s bodies.
Now more than ever, we need to call out their lies and hold them accountable. Together, we can create a better tomorrow.
