Hi Friend — it's Andrew.
I want to take a moment to reflect on all the work we’ve done together over the last few years, but I understand if you can't stay and read the whole thing. Before you go though, you should know my team and I are relying on grassroots support to connect with constituents and keep them up-to-date on the work I'm doing for the community.
My team and I are relying on grassroots support—not special interests—to get ready for our next campaign. Thanks to NY's public financing program your small-dollar donations can be **matched up to 12X** if we qualify. We're on track, but I'm counting on you. Can you chip in $5, $15, or any amount and help me unlock matching funds today? [[link removed]]
Friend, I grew up with two hardworking parents who taught me the importance of philoxenia: a Greek word meaning "love of strangers" . Guided by that principle, I was active in my community long before being elected to office.
My passion for public service has always been rooted in the community. When I served as an aide to my local City Councilman, I got to see what you could accomplish when elected officials put people over politics. That’s why I ran for office in 2018 and how I have always run my office since being elected.
It’s wild to think I’ve been serving my community in Albany for over 7 years. In that time, I've passed ‼️ over 100 bills into law ‼️. Since being elected:
1️⃣ I helped pass Sammy’s Law, which gave New York City more power to set safer speed limits near schools, senior centers and dangerous intersections. I also extended the life saving speed camera program and expanded the red-light cameras to more intersections in our city.
2️⃣ I fought to secure the lowest middle-class tax rate in over 70 years, saving New Yorkers millions of dollars. I’ve also worked to expand the child tax credit to help more families stay in New York.
3️⃣ I wrote and passed a first in the nation law to help protect young people from the dangers of social media and ensure Big Tech can’t prioritize profits over children’s well being.
But our work isn't over. My team and I are still working on making college more affordable, improving our subways and buses, and supporting like-minded candidates who are on the ballot this year!
I'm excited to see what the rest of this year has in store for us, but I'm counting on help from my friends and neighbors – people like you, Friend – to be able to get the word out about my work to make our community a better place.
With the opportunity to have your donation matched up to 12X, will you support me and my team with a donation of $5, $15 or $25 today? [[link removed]]

Andrew Gounardes is a champion for the working class and middle class families that are the backbone of New York.
He’s passed more than 100 bills into law, including legislation to close a loophole in the state’s wage theft law, expand the life-saving school zone speed camera program, guarantee family death benefits for public workers who died from Covid-19, and help secure and expand benefits for 9/11 responders.
He is working to expand the Tuition Assistance Program to help make college more affordable for New York students and to dismantle the legal protections that allow perpetrators of workplace harassment and discrimination to prey on vulnerable workers.
He understands that every day quality of life issues affect the livability of our neighborhoods, which is why he’s fought to improve subway and bus service in the outer boroughs, make the MTA accessible for all riders, and to end the nuisance of modified car mufflers and exhausts with the SLEEP Act.
Andrew and his wife Melanie live in Bay Ridge, where they are raising their sons Evan and James.
Andrew is a graduate of local parochial and public schools, Hunter College - CUNY, and the George Washington University Law School. He is a founding member of the Hellenic-American Leadership Council.
