It is astonishing that in 2019, the government is telling women’s healthcare clinics what they can and can’t say to their patients. It’s censorship, it’s bullying and it’s intentionally manipulative.

Now because of the gag rule enacted by the Trump Administration, clinics across the country will be forced to either close their doors or find other funding sources to care for women in need of lifesaving healthcare procedures, including cancer screenings.

Title X funding has been a successful way to provide care for millions and millions of women across the country. But Planned Parenthood, which accounts for 40% of the funding, has made the tough decision to exit the program so they can present their patients with a full range of healthcare options -- and not just the ones the Trump administration deems appropriate.

It’s a disgrace that Planned Parenthood had to make this decision, putting millions of women in danger of not receiving the care they need. Cory Gardner has the power to do something, but he’s been complicit in the attacks on a woman’s right to choose.

I will always stand up for a woman’s right to choose, but I will also make sure that women's healthcare is a priority in our country. It should be -- plain and simple.
