The Lincoln Project

Friend,

The inevitable has happened.

Texas will officially redistrict and likely pick up a few House seats in 2026.

Unfair? Yes. Unpredictable? No.

Trump’s been getting his ass kicked for the past few months. Epstein, weak job reports, concentration camps, and general stupidity have landed his approval rating in the toilet. It’s no wonder he's turned to cheating.

But hey, this isn’t even close to our first rodeo. We’ve watched Trump and his party cheat before (they gerrymandered 3 extra GOP seats in North Carolina in 2024 after not being satisfied with their 2022 map), and we’re sure we’ll watch them cheat again. It’s just what they do when they realize how much America despises them.

The solution? Fighting harder.

This isn't a victory for Republicans. In fact, it’s a defeat. MAGA has done such a bad job over the past six months that they already know they can’t win fair and square a year and a half from now? The party is so weak and decrepit that they have to suppress a bunch of votes in a red state to even compete for a House majority? That’s embarrassing. And we’re making sure that every last Republican wears this as a badge of shame.

MAGA’s cheating isn’t even going to matter if they keep “governing” like they have been. This party can’t go one day without reporters asking the Dear Leader if he’s a pedophile. That’s not gonna be good for courting the vote.

All we have to do is work a little harder to flip MAGA voters, bring in more Independents, and keep our base fired up. That’s how we win in 2026. Cheating or no cheating.
