4. Demanding action on flesh-dissolving chemical

Hydrogen fluoride is an extremely dangerous chemical used at dozens of oil refineries and transported across the country. A single release could form a deadly, ground-hugging cloud that endangers everyone nearby.

After the EPA refused to act on a petition to eliminate unreasonable risks from refinery use of hydrogen fluoride, NRDC and our allies filed a lawsuit to compel the agency to protect communities from potential catastrophe. [Learn More]
