It's not good for children or for us
UNICEF USA
Welcome Friend! Thanks for joining us.

There's no way to sugarcoat it: we live in a dangerous world. Every day, children face violence, disease and malnutrition. Their most basic needs — a safe home and an education — are often out of reach.

That's why UNICEF exists. We never give up hope or let up the fight for a better world — and neither should you. Give a child hope today by making your first gift.

Children need UNICEF -- and you

One question makes UNICEF's impact perfectly clear: What would happen if we didn't have supporters like you and had to close our doors?
  1. There would be regular outbreaks of deadly diseases. We distribute vaccines to 45% of the world's children every year, and it's making a huge difference! The number of children dying of preventable causes has been cut in half since 1990, an astounding 122 million lives saved.

  2. Families hit by hurricanes, cyclones and earthquakes would be on their own. In a disaster, children are often the most vulnerable. Thanks to its global presence, UNICEF is there before an emergency even hits and stays through the recovery, no matter how long it takes.

  3. Millions of children could die from malnutrition. UNICEF is the world's largest buyer of a life-saving packet called Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF). In fact, we provide an incredible 80% of the world's emergency supplies. Without UNICEF, the 4 million children we help recover from the deadliest form of malnutrition each year might not make it.
Those are just a few of the ways we're making the world safer and better for children. From education and clean water to the reunification of separated families — if a child needs help, UNICEF is there.

The work isn't easy, but it's worth it — and none of it would happen without supporters like you. So thank you for being here, Friend.

Sincerely,

Caryl Stern
