Friend — coal-burning facilities worsen the climate crisis and are a nightmare for our health.

Their dirty emissions are pumped into our air and cause damage to our hearts, lungs, and brains. Children, the elderly, pregnant women, individuals with chronic disease, and those who work outdoors are especially vulnerable.

Today is the deadline for the Trump administration to decide the fate of a coal power plant that’s plagued Michigan residents for decades.

The president’s phony “energy emergency” is keeping the plant open despite a years-old plan to retire it.

The J.H. Campbell power plant was slated to close in May. But a last minute order from Trump’s Department of Energy has forced it to keep operating despite opposition from local communities. Instead of moving to cleaner energy sources, Michigan residents are being forced to pay to keep operating a polluting plant that is jeopardizing their health and environment.

We’re rallying the local community to show that NO ONE WANTS THIS COAL PLANT. Our demonstrations at the plant are making sure they hear our voices – and we’re going to keep campaigning until we close it for good.

We need your help to keep our campaign going, Friend. YOUR support is what allows us to keep up the pressure on polluters, rally in communities like these, and make our grassroots movement impossible to ignore.

Friend — we have a real shot at shutting down this harmful facility once and for all, bringing relief to hundreds of thousands of Michiganders.

But the truth is that we’re in for a real fight from the Trump administration and their fossil fuel allies who care more about their dirty energy profits than about our climate or our health.

Thanks for standing with us, Friend. Together, we can bring real change that makes our communities and our climate healthy and safe for generations to come.

With gratitude,
