This could be just the beginning [link removed]     GIVE NOW to Protect and
Strengthen Earned Benefits! [link removed]   DearJohn,  There is a lot at stake for older Americans during this critical presidential election year! Could it be that Social Security and Medicare will be slashed to help pay down historic budget deficits, caused largely by the coronavirus pandemic and unpaid-for tax breaks for the rich? Will opponents of earned benefits use these summer months to bolster the campaigns of candidates and incumbents who oppose Social Security and Medicare, and launch a full-scale attack against these programs?

I hear from older Americans all across the country about how it's becoming more and more of a struggle just to make ends meet — and how without earned benefits, many older adults would be unable to afford their prescription drugs. And so, I know how significant Social Security and Medicare are to the well-being of all workers, retirees and their families, especially during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
That&#39;s why the National Committee is counting on you to support our full-scale battle in Washington to protect and strengthen earned benefits, and rein in the soaring cost of prescription drugs. With so much at stake during this election year, will you please chip in a gift of <strong><a alt="Click Here to Donate" href="[link removed]" id="action_donate" name="donate_now_dc" style="text-decoration: underline; color: #004D96; text-align: left;" title="Click Here to Donate" ><strong style="font-weight: bold;">$10 or $5</strong></a></strong> to ensure our grassroots advocacy efforts remain strong on your behalf?
Remember, the National Committee is your voice on Capitol Hill! Thanks to the support of our million+ members and supporters, we're a nationally recognized advocacy group that has been fighting — and winning [link removed] — battles on behalf of retired Americans for over 37 years. Your views and support — expressed through Capitol Hill events, petitions, emails, phone calls, personal letters and our active social media communities — have long made a crucial difference in the outcome of legislation on Capitol Hill.

And during these all-important summer months, when incumbents and candidates running for political office are trying to make their case to older Americans about why they deserve your vote, we need every member with us. As someone who represents the fastest-growing segment of our population, you are the "powerful force" that Congress will listen to. And right now, we need our strongest base of support ever to stop some of our elected officials from using the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse to push for deep cuts to earned benefits.
So please, John, take charge of your retirement benefits and ensure Social Security and Medicare remain intact for current and future generations of workers and retirees by <strong><a alt="Click Here to Donate" href="[link removed]" id="action_donate" name="donate_now_dc" style="text-decoration: underline; color: #004D96; text-align: left;" title="Click Here to Donate" ><strong style="font-weight: bold;">making a donation to support the National Committee today!</strong></a></strong> <em>Thank you for any support you can manage at this time.</em>
