Back in my football days, I always remembered those players who — regardless of what happened in the play before — came back to the huddle with grit, defiance, and enthusiasm.

No matter what the scoreboard was.

No matter how much they were bleeding, sweating, and hurting like the rest of us.

They brought that enthusiastic energy every single down because energy begets energy. It’s infectious, and those were some of the most valuable people I’ve ever played with. Attitude isn’t a feeling — no matter the circumstances, it is making a choice.
