Hi John,

I hope you're keeping well.

Last Friday we launched Let's Talk About Sexting and I'm delighted to share this new tool with you now.

It’s designed to support you to
start a conversation about sexting with the young people you work with, and help you address questions they may have.

Sexual health & our new normal

One of the points highlighted at our launch event was that online communication has become the main source of connection for young people during Covid-19.

As restrictions ease, we will be working with youth workers to support young people’s sexual health and to build healthy relationships.

Let's Talk About Sexting is a tool developed by the National Youth Health Programme here at NYCI with support from An Garda Síochána. It provides guidance on:
  • What is meant by the term ‘sexting’

  • Sexting and the Irish law

  • Guidance for young people on what to do if they are involved in a sexting incident which they are not comfortable in

  • Guidance for the youth worker if a young person notifies them on a sexting incident

  • Additional supports and services for both the youth worker and young people

If you have any feedback or questions on Let's Talk About Sexting, I'd love to hear from you.

Lisa
