Hey John,

It’s been both an incredibly slow month, and also a non-stop month. Let me explain:

  1. Donald Trump has federalized the National Guard and taken control of DC police.
  2. He’s continued the redistricting fight, encouraging his MAGA cronies in Texas, Ohio, Missouri, and Indiana to redraw their maps 5 years early – to get rid of Democratic seats.
  3. Congress is on a recess, so even though Lucy is itching to get back to DC and respond to all of these headlines, she physically cannot.

But Democrats in purple states have seemingly the hardest jobs out of everyone right now. They have to FIGHT for their seats, amidst Donald Trump trying to literally draw them out and eliminate their seats.

Republicans have played this game with Lucy’s seat before, and if they succeed in places like Texas and Ohio, there’s no telling what could come next. We need to be prepared, and we need you.
