Pete Hegseth and White House director of xenophobia Stephen Miller, giving hamburgers away to National Guard troops just killing time during their wholly unnecessary deployment to the nation's capital. Vance was met with relentless boos, jeers, and, of course, couch jokes from Washingtonians less than pleased with his presence. May he never enjoy a moment's reprieve.

White House’s new TikTok push epically backfires
Welp, that didn't take long. Less than 24 hours after the White House launched a TikTok page, its videos have been inundated with comments about Donald's late friend and infamous child sex trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein. The new account, which uses the handle @whitehouse and the tagline "Welcome to the Golden Age of America," just started posting videos earlier this week and represents the MAGA cult leader's formal return to mainstream social media. The top comment on one post, an AI-generated image of Trump and Epstein dressed in drag, has received more than 35,000 likes and counting. Maybe just stick to thumb-smashing your lies on Truth Social, Donnie?

Largest immigration concentration camp in US history opens in El Paso, Texas
Dubbed the "Lone Star Lockup" by people clearly lacking any capacity for compassion, Donald Trump's latest mega-concentration camp for people born in the wrong geographical coordinates is apparently officially open for business, despite ongoing concerns about safety, costs, and — of course — an alarming lack of transparency. The MAGA cult leader's administration said more than $1 billion in taxpayer funds will be invested in the detention center to expand its capacity to imprison and inflict misery on up to 5,000 people before eventually disappearing and deporting them to other countries. It is so good to be great again.

Obama applauds Newsom's California redistricting plan as "responsible" as Texas GOP effectively steals five seats with new maps
Barack Obama threw his support behind Gov. Gavin Newsom's decision to alter California's congressional maps after Republicans in Texas essentially stole five additional seats by gerrymandering the shit out of their state maps. The fact that lawmakers are allowed to draw their own maps to ensure they remain in power makes absolutely zero sense if you believe in silly, little ideas like representative democracy, but that argument is clearly for another day. Alarm bells are ringing all around us, and it's high time Democrats started fighting fire with fire.

AI Is failing at an overwhelming majority of companies using it, MIT study finds
Well, well, well. It appears that the tech industry's desperate efforts to turn on the infinite money glitch by firing human workers and replacing them with AI is hitting a major wall, as a new MIT study discovers that a staggering 95% (!!!) of attempts to incorporate generative AI into business so far are failing. As of July, the best AI products successfully completed just 30 percent of the real-world office tasks assigned to them, with most doing significantly worse. This is not great news for the burgeoning AI tech industry, which has already racked up $44 billion in investments this year. Too bad, so sad. Now please get this thing off my phone!
