John,

Did you miss this week's event, Cuts and Consequences: Current Threats to Tobacco Control and Reducing Health Disparities? Don't worry. We have you covered.

It was an important conversation featuring a panel of community leaders, public health practitioners and equity advocates discussing the impact of the proposed elimination of the CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health.

The event was part of our Campaign for the Culture. This comprehensive initiative is focused on uniting, empowering, educating and engaging people of color and other targeted communities around critical healthcare and human rights issues connected to tobacco use, with the goal of inspiring young community members to avoid or quit tobacco.

Cuts and Consequences was the latest in our ongoing series of cultural conversations under this initiative – which includes other activities like listening tours at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), thought-leader summits and advocate profiles.

Campaign for the Culture is focused on these core pillars:

* Educating the public and building awareness in Black and other impacted communities about the harmful effects of tobacco use.

* Engaging the medical community and appealing to providers for support.

* Mobilizing NGOs, policy experts, community leaders and key stakeholders to activate ground-level support for policies and actions.

We’re excited to work with advocates like you so we can reach and partner with the people and communities impacted most by the devastating effects of tobacco use.

Support this critical work by making a contribution today: [link removed]

Sincerely,

Camille Sanchez
