More babies born at 22 weeks are surviving, but it’s still legal to kill them

 

A 2025 study published by the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) has revealed that both active medical treatment and the survival rate of babies born as early as 22 weeks are increasing.

 

The study analyzed the survival rates of nearly 58,918 premature infants. Among all babies born at 22 weeks, regardless of whether they received active treatment, survival increased from 7.4% to 32%.

Texas Senate passes bill to block abortion pills from being mailed into the state

 

Last Tuesday, the Texas Senate passed SB 6, the Woman and Child Protection Act, further restricting the abortion pill and allowing private citizens to file lawsuits against people or companies that manufacture or distribute abortion-inducing drugs in the state.

 

SB 6, filed by Sen. Bryan Hughes, states “a person may not: (1) manufacture or distribute an abortion-inducing drug in this state; or (2) mail, transport, deliver, prescribe, or provide an abortion-inducing drug in any manner to or from any person or location in this state.”

Pharmacies like Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid that currently dispense the abortion pill have already seen backlash from pro-life customers, but they need to see more in order to change.
