A federal appeals court recently ruled that the Trump administration can
legally suspend or cancel billions of dollars in foreign aid — even though
Congress had already approved the funds.^1
About $10 billion in global health aid and lifesaving prevention and
treatment programs is at stake.^2
Let’s be clear: this isn’t just about foreign policy. It’s about unchecked
executive power overriding the will of the people — undermining the very
foundation of our democracy.
This is just the latest example of how the Trump administration is willing
to gut critical programs that save lives, support global stability, and
reflect our most basic democratic values.
We cannot stay silent while this administration continues to rule through
authoritarian actions. We must take a stand.
