Hi John,
Our COVID-19 response spiraled out of control weeks ago, and now we are seeing the troubling results of failed leadership.
I am with each of you...baffled, angry and worried as today was another record-high day here. When I feel this way, I reach out to my community. It is in the conversations that we often find the strength to fight on.
Today on the phones and via text was heartbreaking. The pain is real, the fear is real and the economic struggles remain without solutions in sight.
Our health care workers are struggling and many
businesses feel misled, reopening properly when others were not, only to see people get sick and economic losses mount again.
Meanwhile Rep. David Schwikert has been as ineffective as Doug Ducey.
His solution? He recently spoke about creating capital gains tax relief to incentivize investment. His plan is to help the wealthy during a pandemic on a hope and a whim they invest.
Well, trickle down does not work. Sorry Schweikert, your math is wrong.
He should instead be fighting for hazard pay for our frontline workers, extending federal unemployment benefits which are set to expire in July, protecting health care and using his influence to get Gov. Ducey to act for our safety.
Instead, he rallied with Trump.
I am fed up. I know you are too.
But we must fight on for each other.
And as impossible as it is to talk about an election during a pandemic, we must. We can't afford two more years of Rep. David and four more of Trump.
In just 2 days, we are facing an important FEC filing deadline. Our fundraising numbers will become publicly available for all to judge. We need to continue to stand up in this fight and frankly, fight back fiercer than ever before.
This is about our voice, not those in DC who don't hear us.
Anything you can give will make a difference. Chip in here before June 30th if you can.
Be well my friends.
