John,Right now, over 38,000 people in New Mexico’s 2nd district are at risk of losing their Medicaid coverage. And across the state of New Mexico, it’s more than 100,000.
These are our neighbors, our elders, and our kids. Families who’ve counted on this care, and are now being told: you’re on your own.
I heard from a mom raising a child with special needs, terrified of what would happen if her coverage disappears. And I spoke to a private cardiology clinic in Carlsbad that’s barely breaking even. They’re trying to serve patients who have nowhere else to go.
Life and death shouldn’t be up for debate, John.Donald Trump and Republicans are out there pushing an extreme economic agenda that puts billionaires first and leaves working families behind.
They’ve gutted Medicaid, given handouts to the rich, and called it “America First” — while our communities pay the price.
Let me be clear: It doesn’t have to be like this.
We can — and must — build a system where no one has to wonder whether they can afford to take their child to the doctor.
Where small clinics in rural towns don’t have to shut down. Where healthcare is within reach for everyone, not just those at the top.
That’s what I’m fighting for. But I can’t do it alone.
Will you chip in $10 or whatever you can to help us build a campaign that puts our communities and their access to healthcare first — and puts the communities of southern New Mexico first before politics? [[link removed]]
Thank you,
Gabe
