Donald Trump just announced that he is going to try and cancel mail-in ballots by Executive Order.
This is a direct attack on our democratic principles and who we are as a nation. Brave men and women have died to protect our right to vote. Voting by mail has been part of America’s story since 1792, when early forms of absentee voting were first allowed. Since then, mail-in voting has remained a cornerstone of our democracy — and has remained safe, secure, and reliable.
We all know this isn’t about voter fraud or security. It’s Trump’s latest attack on our democracy. And where’s Brian Fitzpatrick? Nowhere to be found.
Fitzpatrick has the leverage to make a difference — after all, he was the deciding vote for Trump’s disastrous budget bill — but I guess he only uses that leverage to give tax cuts to billionaires that working families like us have to pay for. He continues to stand by while his party makes it harder for Pennsylvanians to vote.
We need a change in leadership, John. We need a Representative that isn’t afraid to stand up to Trump.
That’s why I’m running. I’ll put our community and our democracy first, not party bosses and billionaires.
