Trump has made it his mission to expand fossil fuel extraction and dismantle programs that protect our climate. His “Big, Ugly Bill” that passed last month mandated more oil and gas leases on public lands and waters, defunded clean energy and environmental justice programs, and gutted support for renewable energy. As Congress debates a new slate of funding bills, it’s more important than ever that we push a positive and sustainable agenda — one that will make polluters pay, end subsidies for dirty energy, and rapidly expand renewable energy. That starts with ending the federal bankroll for the oil and gas industry and preventing the Trump administration from opening new public lands to drilling and mining. The End Polluter Welfare Act would do just that, and is vital to countering Trump’s anti-environment agenda. Tell Congress: Our money SHOULD NOT be going into the pockets of fossil fuel executives. Support the End Polluter Welfare Act!

These corporate handouts (including tax breaks, loans and loan guarantees, research and development, and aid for dirty energy projects) drive an unprecedented expansion of U.S. fossil fuel development. And every dollar the federal government spends to support dirty energy is money diverted from vital programs that help communities and combat climate change. We simply cannot afford to keep subsidizing an industry that is poisoning our climate and communities — Take action today by urging your members of Congress to support the End Polluter Welfare Act!
