Voting is absolutely fundamental to our democracy. So, when President Trump announces his intention to eliminate mail-in voting, it is a serious cause for concern.

While Trump falsely claims that voting by mail results increases voter fraud, Washington State has proved for decades that mail-in voting is consistently the safest and most trackable method of voting.

I’m not standing idly by while the Administration attempts to limit access to the ballot box and disenfranchise millions of Americans.

Washington State has long been a leader in adopting mail-in voting for all elections, and today, a small but growing number of states are following suit, with most already widely allowing absentee ballots.

In addition to being safe and secure, voting by mail makes it easier for so many people to participate in our democracy who otherwise would not be able to, from working parents to those with disabilities and more.
