Russian dictator Vladmir Putin—who hasn't allowed a free or fair election since he took power in 2000—told Donald Trump during their Alaska meeting on Friday that voting by mail is fraudulent. 

Trump told reporters after his meeting that Putin said "Your election was rigged because you have mail-in voting...It’s impossible to have mail-in voting and have honest elections." 

Never mind that every single deployed member of our armed forces votes by mail, or that Donald Trump himself voted by mail as recently as 2024—a murderous, corrupt authoritarian telling the leader of the world's oldest democracy how to conduct "honest elections" deserves swift condemnation from any U.S. President.

Instead, wannabe-fascist Trump is taking Putin's advice and has vowed to issue an "Executive Order" to try and ban voting by mail:

Colorado, along with seven other states, allows for elections to be conducted entirely by mail. Another universal vote by mail state? Nevada, where Trump won by 3% in 2024. 

It isn't any more complex than this: Trump wants to be a dictator himself.

Colorado's elections are safe, secure, and fair for all. Voting by mail is convenient for rural voters, who tend to back the GOP; and it is a useful option for working people who can't always find time to visit a polling place.

But if Trump thinks that we're going to roll over and let him suppress anti-MAGA voters, he's in for a rude awakening.

We won't stand for this. But to launch a fight to resist these unconstitutional orders, we need to organize now.
