What would you buy with $5 million, John?
I’m asking because, at the beginning of August, we learned that a Texas
oil billionaire poured $5 million into a super PAC to prop up Mike Rogers’
Senate campaign.
And not just any Texas oil billionaire — Tim Dunn, a long-time mega-donor
to far-right political causes and an ardent Christian nationalist whose
ultimate goal is to “replace public education with private Christian
schooling,” in reporting by CNN.
That’s right, a man who 1) doesn’t live here, 2) doesn’t represent our
values, and 3) made his fortune drilling fossil fuels is trying to buy
influence in our state.
And his two $2.5M donations account for 98% of the super PAC’s total
fundraising in the first half of 2025. It makes you wonder: Does Mike
Rogers care about Michiganders? Or this guy?
Rogers’s campaign isn’t raising money from real Michiganders — not like we
are. Not by a long shot.
In fact, he’s accepting handouts from a wide network of right-wing
megadonors who want to roll back environmental protections, put corporate
profits over families, and inject religious extremism into our laws.
These special interests are scared that someone who won’t put their
interests above all else could win Michigan’s Senate seat.
They’re terrified of being held accountable for polluting our water and
our air. They’re hoping that no one steps up in support of workers’ rights
or an economy that works for all of us.
I guess that makes my Senate campaign their biggest nightmare,
John. [ [link removed] ]Help us give 'em hell and send a message: Michiganders
decide our elections, and our state will never be for sale. Split a
donation between my campaign and Blue Amp Action today.

I’m not running to serve Christian nationalist Texas oil tycoons. I’m in
this to serve Michiganders. End of story.
We’ve received donations from all 83 counties. I’ve been on the campaign
trail, meeting people Mike Rogers would screw over at the drop of a hat.
I know what a winning campaign looks like — the energy is here, and we
have the momentum to win. That’s why I’m not backing down, no matter how
much oil-stained cash they throw at this race.
Thanks for sticking with me.
— Mallory
