The so-called “Party of Family Values” is at it again:

Axios: VA rescinds weeks of parental leave — even for some giving birth this week

Cruel doesn’t even begin to describe this policy. Because of Donald Trump, countless VA workers — including workers who are literally giving birth in the ER right now — are scrambling after the White House terminated weeks of previously approved family leave.

The Trump administration even had the gall to call these cancellations “much more equitable.”

That’s BS. And Trump knows it.

It’s not “equitable” to force parents to scramble for affordable child care. And it sure as hell isn’t “equitable” to blindside dozens of new moms who work hard every day to care for our nation’s veterans.

That’s not even to mention the risk of complications women face during childbirth. This policy is just wrong, it’s unrealistic, and it’s cruel.

As a mom myself, I’m crushed for these parents. And I’m crushed thinking about the early memories and experiences these families will miss out on because of Donald Trump. Our families deserve better.
