Melinda signed a simple petition at her local school. It asked that parents be informed if their own child started expressing confusion about gender identity.

State officials summoned Melinda and repeatedly questioned her about her beliefs—pressing her on why she would not endorse “sex-change” surgeries and powerful hormone treatments for minors.

Her answers were honest: she and her husband, Casey, believe children should not be subjected to irreversible medical procedures, especially when so many grow out of gender confusion with time and support.

For holding that belief, the state took away their foster care license—robbing children in need of a loving home.

Because they believe what the science actually shows: that most children outgrow gender dysphoria without intervention.

Vermont would rather keep children languishing in the system than place them with loving parents who refuse to go along with woke ideology.

We cannot allow this dangerous standard to take hold in America.
