Good News: Court Blocked DHS from using Medicaid Data for Immigration Enforcement
This week’s updates to our executive branch tracker [[link removed]] include some rare good news: The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California granted a preliminary injunction [[link removed]] blocking DHS from using Medicaid data from 20 plaintiff states for immigration enforcement. As a result, DHS may not use the Medicaid data it has already obtained from the plaintiff states, and CMS is prohibited from sharing data with DHS from those plaintiff states.
