Last week, I signed a series of bipartisan bills sent to my desk that will improve and expand mental health and addiction care statewide. Mental health struggles and the disease of addiction don’t discriminate – they touch the lives of Oregonians from all backgrounds.

These investments build the capacity of our mental health system and give providers more tools to intervene when someone needs help. Tackling this crisis requires a comprehensive approach that supports people in crisis, the social workers and counselors who are on the ground and doing the work, and builds a long-term strategy to address the addiction crisis.
