I’m frustrated. I’m angry. But more than anything, I’m hopeful.

Suicide remains one of the leading causes of death for youth ages 13–24, and the risk is even higher for LGBTQ+ youth. Yet every day, I see proof that hope is possible. I see young people finding community, connection, and a reason to keep going.

I know what it feels like to reach the edge, because I’ve been there. In this video, I share why that experience drives me to fight for LGBTQ+ youth every single day.

This is why It Gets Better exists. We meet LGBTQ+ youth before crisis, in schools, online, and in their communities – showing them they belong, keeping loneliness at bay, and giving them the tools to thrive.
