I was raised in Eau Claire, in a union household where the rules were simple: work hard, help people, and always show up.

My mom was a special education teacher. In the summers, she'd take me to her school so I could read books and be a buddy to her students. My dad taught workforce development at our local tech college, and when his students missed class because they couldn't find childcare, he'd turn to me and say: "Sarah, let's help them out."

Around our dinner table, my parents taught me that sometimes you need a hand, and sometimes you lend a hand. And they taught me: "When you see something wrong, you stand up and do something about it."

That's the kind of family I come from, and it's how I've tried to lead every step of the way.

Over the past seven years, I've had the honor of serving the people of Wisconsin — first as your State Treasurer, and now as your Secretary of State. I'm proud of what we've done together: preventing foreclosures, expanding home ownership, delivering record-breaking funds to public schools, and improving access to services.

But our work isn't finished.

That's why today, I'm proud to share that I'm running to be Wisconsin's next Lieutenant Governor.

Will you make a donation today to help us build on our momentum and launch our campaign strong? [[link removed]]

As I travel across Wisconsin, I hear again and again: people are fed up.

They're fed up with rising costs, while childcare is nearly impossible to find.

Fed up with underfunded public schools.

Fed up with politicians attacking reproductive rights while ignoring the voices of the families who will be most affected.

Fed up with a system that works for the wealthy while everyday Wisconsinites are told to "wait their turn."

They are seeing a system that works for the wealthy and corporations while Wisconsinites pick up the tab. It's not who we are as a state.

But with Republicans in control of our state legislature, it's what we're getting.

They've had the chance to expand healthcare to 90,000 more Wisconsinites — they said no.

They had the chance to make sure new moms got postpartum care — they said no.

They had the chance to invest in our kids' public schools — they said no again.

But when it comes to tax handouts for corporations and perks for the powerful? They didn't hesitate for a second.

That's not leadership. It's betrayal. It's WRONG!

I know we can do better. I know we can deliver for Wisconsin families, but only if we build the kind of strong, people-powered campaign it will take to win.

So will you join us by pitching in $4 or whatever you can today to help build our campaign? [[link removed]]

I'm not running for a title. I'm running because our kids — including my son Hartley, our little cheese curd — deserve a Wisconsin where families don't just get by, they get ahead.

This is our chance to build that future together. Let's get to work.

More soon,

Sarah Godlewski
