 Hey, I’ll get right to the point: Trump’s Republican Price Hike Bill is the opposite of what any public servant should ever want to do to a community. When you lead a community, you don’t root for your neighbors to be deprived of their health care. You don’t root for kids to lose out on good schools. You don’t root for families to face higher energy costs and grocery bills. But that’s exactly what the GOP bill is going to inflict on New Jersey, and my opponent Jack Ciattarelli is its number one fan. He urged every New Jersey member of Congress to vote for this bill.
We’re talking about public services that allow families to access doctors, that enable seniors to get the health care they need, and that enable kids to stay in school instead of missing time due to avoidable illness. But the new budget Trump just signed? It strips funding away from these key public resources and further endangers our communities. Without funding for programs like Medicaid, families will become more dependent on emergency services, leaving them vulnerable to high health care costs, and forcing parents to miss work and kids to miss school as our communities get sicker and sicker. We cannot afford to lose out on these public services in New Jersey. It will be damaging to our children, damaging to our working families, and damaging for our state.
