1) Europe is Dying - Literally
A recurring theme of the HOTLINE is that you can’t have prosperity without people and human ingenuity.
This chart on births and deaths in Europe is a terrifying glimpse into the future of a new dark age of the western world, if birth rates don’t start rising - and quickly. Europeans are becoming extinct.

Negative population growth is a sure killer of prosperity - and human happiness.
For sixty years, wackos like Paul Ehrlich (“The Population Bomb”) and governments around the world - including our own - warned that we all had a moral obligation to save the planet by having fewer babies. This evil propaganda campaign worked. And look what it has wrought.

2) First, Kill All the Billionaires
Liberals are desperate for a message that will appeal to the millions of middle-class voters who are fleeing their ideas. They’ve discovered that the problem with America is the billionaires.
That's been the mantra of New York’s mayoral candidate and shooting star Zohran Mamdani, and is now gaining steam with other leftist candidates across the country.
Graham Platner, a leading Democratic candidate for U.S.Senate against Susan Collins in Maine, declares in an introductory video: "The problem is the billionaires."
He's promising to "relentlessly fight the egregious income inequality that's destroying this country."

Chase her out and Maine suddenly becomes a worker’s paradise.

3) Minneapolis Has Its Own Mamdani
New York isn’t the only large American city that may turn socialist in November.
[link removed]
Minnesota State Senator Omar Fateh just won the endorsement of Minneapolis Democrats in his race for Mayor. The political betting markets give Fateh about a 4-in-10 chance of defeating incumbent Mayor Jacob Frey.
[link removed]
Fateh wants sharply higher taxes on the "wealthy", rent control, has supported defund the police, and just like New York’s Mamdani, he favors establishing city-owned grocery stores.
We take these wacko leftist candidates dead seriously. We saw what has happened in big cities from Chicago to San Francisco when the progressives take over American cities and then let them rot from within.

4) California's $100 Billion Train to Nowhere: Where Did All the Money Go?
We at Unleash Prosperity have been blowing the whistle ([link removed]) on the California high-speed rail scam for years.
[link removed]
The train fiasco is now finally put to rest – at least for federal funding - after 300% cost overruns. Now, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer (R-KY) is investigating what happened to all the federal dollars poured into the corrupt and/or incompetent California High-Speed Rail Authority.
In a letter to Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy, Comer said: "We are seeking to understand whether the Authority knowingly misrepresented the ridership projections and the associated financial viability of the California High-Speed Rail Project."
Noting that "not one route is complete” 17 years after voters approved bond funding, the spending on the project has escalated to as much as $128 billion from an initial estimate of $33 billion. Moreover, Comer said, the High Speed Rail Authority is "facing financial collapse."
Comer added: "The massive cost overruns and lack of progress warrant a reassessment of whether CHSRA acted with transparency and complied with the law."
The letter cited research published ([link removed]) by Unleash Prosperity, Stanford University's Hoover Institution and other sources.

5) America Falling Behind on Nuclear Energy
If the latest tally from the IAEA is accurate, then the total number of reactors under construction in the United States is zero. This doesn’t include the restart of Three Mile Island.
It also doesn’t include reactor 3 and 4 at the Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant in Waynesboro, Georgia that opened last year.
But we have fallen behind in new plants:
[link removed]
The World Nuclear Association is tracking 21 proposed US reactors but they are not confident that any of them will begin operation within 15 years. We hope they're wrong. Especially in this new era of small nuclear reactors - that are much safer than the large plants - we need nuclear as part of our electric power generation given the massive new demands.
