How do you like to start your day, John?

I find that a morning workout followed by a strong cup of coffee helps me meet the day with a clear head and the energy I need to fight for Texans. While I enjoy my first cup today, I thought I'd send you a quick update on our race. 

I'm thrilled to report we're off to an incredible start. After multiple polls showed me with an edge over my likely GOP opponent, the Cook Political Report upgraded our chances of winning – and The Hill ranked this one of the five most likely Senate seats to flip in the entire country.

But here's one thing that worries me. After an initial surge to start August, fundraising has really tapered off these last couple of days. We fell short of yesterday's $20,000 goal.

Missing these early goals could have a serious impact later on. Republicans have already raised millions of dollars, and if we don’t close the gap quickly, it could cost us our chance to flip Texas blue!

That's why I'm personally asking: Will you start your day today by chipping in $X, $2X, or any amount to get back on track and flip this battleground seat? Every dollar gets us a little closer to giving Texans the new generation of leadership we deserve.
