John, just when we thought the Democratic establishment finally found the spine to call a genocide a genocide... they backtracked.

First, Rep. Katherine Clark — Democrats’ second-in-command in House leadership — admitted that Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

Then, just three days later, Clark walked back her comments.

This is pathetic, John, but it’s not surprising. We can guess that someone from AIPAC complained about this. Clark herself has received almost $703,000 from the Israel lobby throughout her political career.

If AIPAC can demand Democratic leadership retract their words and whitewash a genocide — they have too much power in the Democratic Party.

Their organization is funded primarily by pro-Trump far-right billionaires, and they’re the biggest source of Republican money flowing into Democratic primaries – using GOP megadonor cash to defeat progressive members of Congress like former Justice Democrats Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman, and now targeting leaders like Summer Lee and Ilhan Omar.

Far too many Democrats are either silent on this issue or openly defend genocide because they are in the pockets of AIPAC. If we want a Democratic Party that actually stands up for human rights and opposes genocide, we need them to stop taking checks from this corrupt lobby group ASAP.
