Dear Friend,
Trump and Republicans in Congress are hurting working families by cutting food aid, slashing healthcare, and ignoring the real struggles people face. But here in South Jersey, we’re not backing down. From breaking ground on Eastside High School, to standing with families at the Food Bank of South Jersey, to securing resources for our firefighters, and hearing from thousands of you at my telephone town hall, I’ve been focused on fighting for you, our community in South Jersey, and our great nation.
Increasing Opportunities for Our Students
 |
Congressman Norcross worked with local leaders to secure a $115 million investment into Eastside High. |
Our children's education and the quality of their schools should not be determined by zip code. Eastside High is long overdue for a new building, and last week we made it official: $115 million in federal funding will build the kind of modern school our kids deserve. This means new classrooms, labs, and space that will help prepare students for college, job training, and the workforce.
Food is a Right, Not a Privilege
|
Congressman Norcross toured the Food Bank of South Jersey last week. |
When I visited the Food Bank of South Jersey, I saw the incredible work their volunteers and staff do every day. While families are struggling to put food on the table, Trump and Republicans passed a bill to cut food assistance for millions of Americans. In South Jersey, that means nearly 100,000 of our neighbors risk losing the assistance they rely on. The Food Bank has been serving South Jersey since 1985, and I’ll keep fighting to ensure they have the resources they need to feed our kids. Food is a right, not a privilege.
Thanks for Joining My Telephone Townhall
|
Congressman Norcross speaks with constituents at his telephone town hall. |
One of the most important parts of being your representative is hearing directly from you. Thank you to the more than 10,000 people who joined my telephone town hall to ask questions about Trump’s Big Ugly Law: the largest cuts to healthcare and food assistance in U.S. history. I am bringing your stories and concerns back to Washington as I will continue to fight back against these devastating cuts and stand up for South Jersey and our fundamental rights and our democracy.
Investing in Camden’s Fire Department
|
Congressman Norcross hosts a press conference to announce funding for Camden’s Fire Department. |
Every time firefighters respond to a call, they put their lives on the line to protect us. The least we can do is make sure they have safe firehouses and reliable equipment. Last week, I was honored to announce $6.4 million in federal funding for Camden’s Fire Department to upgrade their firehouses and trucks. This is government working the way it should, delivering results that protect lives and keep our communities strong.
It's great to see what we’re accomplishing together here in South Jersey, and I’ll keep working every day to deliver for you.
