This is how authoritarians operate.
This is dystopian and dangerous.
At Donald Trump’s request, Republican-led states are sending National Guard troops to DC.

What we are seeing right now is the politicization of law enforcement and the National Guard — a move that is both authoritarian and disrespectful to residents, Guardsmen, and law enforcement alike.
This isn’t about reducing crime. It’s about intimidation and consolidating power — and it’s just one piece of the plan.
Trump pushed the Texas GOP to redraw its congressional maps to give Republicans five more seats ahead of 2026 and cement a compliant majority in the House.
And now, he’s reviving his efforts to end mail-in voting, which millions of Americans rely on to participate in our democracy.
This is how authoritarians operate: rig the rules, crack down on dissent, and stack the deck before voters even get to the polls. It’s a page right out of Viktor Orbán’s playbook, and as long as Republicans are in control, there’s no real accountability for Trump’s assault on American democracy.
We need a real check on Donald Trump, and it’ll only happen if we win back the House resoundingly next November. That’s why with 2026 right around the corner, I’m doing everything I can to support Democrats across the country.
This is the fight of our time. Will you chip in $5 or anything you can spare to join me in our efforts to take back the House and stop Trump’s power grab before it’s too late?
