Yesterday, we hosted our most attended #LeadersMatter virtual event to hear directly from Emerge women like State Sen. Molly Cook who are pushing back against the latest Republican power grab— gerrymandering.

Here’s the latest in the fight:

Last night, State Rep. Nicole Collier refused to comply with Texas Department of Public Safety’s demands that they “escort” her to and from the Capitol, and they locked her in the House chamber.

Protestors showed up in force to support her, chanting “let her go!” deep into the night. Emerge Alum State Sen. Molly Cook stepped up to protect three women protestors demanding Collier be free to go, but Texas DPS arrested them.

This fight isn’t just about Texas. It's about protecting the integrity of our elections and ensuring every vote counts.
