We're all seeing the news: Democracy is under attack.

Donald Trump and Texas MAGA extremists are using redistricting in Texas to rig the next midterm elections. But here in California, we’re fighting back. If Texas is going to punch, California will punch harder.

We just learned about California’s new map – and I have big news: If passed, I’ll be running in the new 42nd District.

This district includes my hometown of Long Beach and stretches along the coast through Huntington Beach and Newport Beach.

But I’ll be honest: this is a much tougher district. In 2024, our district voted for Kamala Harris by 32 points. Our new district voted for Kamala Harris by less than half that.

I love my current congressional district, but I understand the stakes. Democracy is on the line.

So I’m ready to fight and run in this new, harder district. But I’m going to become a top target for national Republicans. They’re going to spend millions and pull out all the stops to try and defeat me – to silence us.
