As students across Middle and Southwest Georgia headed back to school earlier this month, I’m reminded of the importance of ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed — no matter their ZIP code.
Throughout my career in public service, I’ve made investing in education one of my top priorities. That means:
Fighting to secure federal funding for local schools and institutions, so students have the resources they need to thrive.
Supporting initiatives to expand access to affordable, high-quality preschool and early childhood education.
Working to raise teacher pay and invest in professional development for our educators.
Expanding access to school meals, broadband internet, and safe learning environments.
Education is the key to building strong communities and a strong economy. When we invest in our schools, we’re investing in the future of Georgia — and the future of our country.
But we know progress isn’t guaranteed. There are those in Congress who want to slash education budgets, cut programs for our kids, and undermine the very foundation of public education. I’m running for re-election so I can continue protecting and strengthening these vital investments.
