First of all, we’d like to thank everyone who took the time to respond to last week’s survey. After reading your responses, we wanted to share the key takeaways with you.

When we asked which of the threats posed by the Trump administration Democrats should prioritize, you said to focus on protecting voting rights and our free and fair elections. Many respondents also pointed to Trump’s corruption and abuse of power, threats to Social Security and Medicare, and the spread of disinformation and extremism.

You also shared how Democrats should fight back. Many urged us to pass state-level protections to counter harmful federal policies. Others told us to fight for fair redistricting, challenge gerrymandering in court, use social media and other methods to reach young people, and embrace policies that unite and inspire people.

Finally, we asked what worries you most — and what makes you feel optimistic about the future. Many respondents expressed concern about the persistence of extremism, disinformation, and the erosion of democratic norms. But you also emphasized things that give you hope, including the persistence of grassroots organizing, mass mobilization, and the energy of young voters.

We have a lot of work to do, but your responses made it clear that you’re ready to fight back alongside Governor Walz.
