Once again, the DNC resolution committee has failed to prioritize the climate emergency, and just voted NO on holding a climate debate so the American people, and the rest of the world, can hear from every presidential candidate on how they would lead on this crisis.
Right now, the Amazon rainforest is blazing out of control, and is getting dangerously close to the point where it will be unable to sustain itself. This is more than symbolic. The Amazon is referred to as the lungs of the planet, taking in CO2 and providing oxygen to support life.
There is no excuse for the DNC not taking climate change seriously. Our representatives must face the facts and support measures like the Green New Deal now because this is a global emergency, none of the many issues facing our nation and our planet will matter.
The climate will not wait. We MUST get representatives elected who will push for immediate action, AND pass a Green New Deal for the sake of our collective future.
