John,
Today, marks the 50th anniversary of the first ever Pride March that took place in memory of the Stonewall Uprisings of June 28th, 1969. This weekend is marked with celebrations throughout Montana and events at the Big Sky Pride festival.
But this year, the celebrations were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In honor of Pride, I want to share with you a video from last year’s Big Sky Pride when our campaign addressed members of the LGBTQ+ community from across Montana.

Everyone in Montana is entitled to an Attorney General who fights for us—who defends the right to individual dignity under the Montana Constitution, and be a steadfast ally in the ongoing work for equality.
The Montana Constitution states: Article II -- DECLARATION OF RIGHTS Section 4. Individual dignity:
“The dignity of the human being is inviolable. No person shall be denied the equal protection of the laws.”
No person shall be denied. Every Montanan has the right to be treated with dignity and are guaranteed equal protection of the laws.
But for far too long this hasn’t been the case and over the past few years we’ve seen renewed attacks of bigotry, hatred, and racism against our fellow Montanans.
We have candidates openly running for office who want to take away the gains we’ve made towards equality and move this state backwards.
The Attorney General should fight for us, all of us. And I promise I will be that fighter and a steadfast ally in the ongoing work for equality.
I am humbled by the work of Big Sky Pride, and thank the activists who make their voices heard and lead Montana forward towards a more open and inclusive state.
Our state has made great progress to recognize the LGBTQ+ community. They are our neighbors, our friends, our family members, and our co-workers.
As Attorney General, I will always defend your rights under your Montana Constitution and ensure that every Montanans can live a life of dignity.
Sincerely,
–Raph Graybill
