The New York Times is reporting that Russia has secretly offered bounties to kill American troops in Afghanistan. It also alleges that President Trump was briefed on the news in March and did nothing.

Now, the President is denying that he ever received that briefing. Either he’s lying and did nothing after learning Putin is paying for dead American troops or U.S. intelligence agencies withheld this information from the President because they did not have confidence in his ability to respond.

This is an unconscionable abdication of leadership from our commander in chief. I will be appearing on a special edition of “The Situation Room” with Wolf Blitzer on CNN tonight at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT to discuss this news as well as the coronavirus pandemic.
