Every summer I’m reminded of one scary truth: this will likely be the coolest summer for the rest of our lives. Summer can be a reminder of the urgency of the climate crisis for a lot of us in Oregon, from the increasing number of scorching heatwaves to life-threatening wildfires. There is no time to waste – our lawmakers need to act now, but as we saw during this year’s session, they missed their opportunity.
Even though session is over, we must keep up the pressure and continue showing our lawmakers how much we care about our climate and environment.
