It’s Mandela Barnes.

In case you missed it, Texas House Democrats staged a brave walkout to stop the Republican-controlled state government from creating five new gerrymandered and intensely Republican congressional districts.

The fight is far from over, but it was a daring step to thwart the Republican effort to play dirty and retain their House majority.

The walkout reminded me of a similarly brave and necessary step Democrats took right here in my home state of Wisconsin to stand up to then-Gov. Scott Walker and his disastrous Act 10 bill, which would have decimated collective bargaining rights for public employees.

Because of the stand the Democrats took, portions of Act 10 were deemed unconstitutional by the Wisconsin Supreme Court. That would not have been possible without the dedicated Democrats who stood up for workers’ rights.

Those are the sorts of representatives our country needs – ones who stand up to abuses of power and fight for the will of the people. At the Long Run PAC, we support changemaking candidates nationwide of that very sort, and we need your support to grow our program. Will you support us in the fight for a fair future ahead with a contribution? ([link removed])
