iGaming, sports betting operators report $284.6M in July revenue

DETROIT, Aug. 19, 2025 —
Michigan’s commercial and tribal internet gaming operators reported a combined total of $284.6 million in gross receipts from internet gaming (iGaming) and internet sports betting for July. This reflects a 0.2% decrease compared to June.

Monthly Gross Receipts
iGaming gross receipts for July totaled $250.5 million, up from $240.6 million in June. Gross sports betting receipts were $34.1 million, down from $44.6 million recorded in the previous month.

Monthly Adjusted Gross Receipts
Combined adjusted gross receipts (AGR) for iGaming and internet sports betting reached $259.1 million in July. Of that total, $235.2 million came from iGaming, and $23.9 million came from internet sports betting. This marks a 4.1% increase in iGaming AGR and a 21.6% decrease in sports betting AGR compared to June. Year-over-year, iGaming AGR rose 36.5%, while sports betting AGR increased by 38.7% compared to July 2024.

Monthly Handle
The total internet sports betting handle was $282.7 million in July, a 6.6% decrease from the $302.7 million recorded in June.

Monthly State Taxes and Payments
Operators reported submitting $50.5 million in state taxes and payments in July, including:

  • iGaming taxes and fees: $49.1 million
  • Internet sports betting taxes and fees: $1.4 million

Monthly City of Detroit Taxes and Payments
Detroit’s three commercial casinos reported $12.5 million in wagering taxes and municipal services fees paid to the City of Detroit in July, including:

  • iGaming taxes and fees: $12.1 million
  • Internet sports betting taxes and fees: $411,627

Monthly Tribal Operator Payments
Tribal operators reported $6.1 million in payments made to their respective governing bodies in July.

As of July 2025, 15 commercial and tribal operators have been authorized to offer iGaming and/or internet sports betting in Michigan. Currently, 12 operators offer internet sports betting, and 15 offer iGaming. Individual operator results are published on the MGCB website.
