Just The News (8/16/25) reports: "President Donald Trump had campaigned on promises to undo many of the Biden administration’s climate policies. He called climate change a 'hoax,' vowed to stop offshore wind projects, and promised to overturn former President Biden’s electric vehicle mandates.  Immediately after being sworn into office, Trump went about making good on these campaign promises and more. In 2022, The American Energy Alliance began keeping a tally of all the actions Biden and the Democrats had taken to make it harder to produce oil and gas. Only two years into Biden’s term, the AEA had 125 items on its list. By the time Biden left office, the list had doubled in size.  On his first day back at the White House, Trump signed dozens of executive orders, including his order 'Unleashing American Energy.' The AEA started a new list that tallied up the actions that Trump and Congressional Republicans were taking to unleash America’s energy potential. The first edition, released in March, contained 50 actions. Last week, they updated the list for Trump’s first 200 days in action, and the newest list contains 200 items. "

It's not just the boss fighting for America's energy dominance - Team Trump has some allies on the Hill too.


CFACT (8/17/25) article: "By greatly restricting and outright eliminating some of the most pernicious taxpayer funded government favors in the energy sector, President Donald Trump has delivered on key campaign promises that will ultimately lead to lower energy costs. That’s a victory worth celebrating, since the policy shift puts America back on a path toward energy independence while also cutting ties with hostile foreign sources...The 'One Big Beautiful Bill' (OBBB), which Trump signed into law this past July, torpedoes what Tom Pyle, president of the Institute for Energy Research (IER), calls 'market-distorting subsidies” for wind and solar projects. This move alone represents a sharp pivot away from the Biden-era policies that penalized domestic oil and gas production while artificially pumping up green energy projects that can’t stand on their own two feet...But the recalibration of American energy policy would not have been possible without support from key congressional figures. This is why the American Energy Alliance, a nonprofit group that favors free-market energy policies, has released an 'American Energy Scorecard' that highlights how lawmakers have voted on key energy policies in each state. The scorecard makes it clear who is on the side of American energy independence and who is complicit in policies that would make America more dependent on China. It’s a valuable tool to have prior to the midterm elections."

The Inslee plan: all pain and no gain.


The Hill (8/17/25) op-ed: "With passage of a federal budget that cuts subsidies for renewables like wind and solar and an executive order promising to “end taxpayer support for unaffordable and unreliable ‘green’ energy sources,” climate activists are considering new approaches to reduce the impact of greenhouse gases. One such champion stepping forward is former Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee. Inslee made fighting climate change the rhetorical centerpiece of his time as governor and his short-lived presidential campaign. Inslee claims he made Washington state 'a leader' in the fight against climate change...In fact, Washington state’s carbon dioxide emissions increased every year of Inslee’s first decade in office, except 2020. The governor’s policies were so ineffective that, in 2019, Florida’s per capita CO2 emissions were actually lower than Washington state’s, having been 10 percent higher just six years earlier. Florida, with no meaningful climate policy, outperformed Washington with Jay Inslee at the helm."
