I wanted to share some exciting news about a new bipartisan bill Mary Gay just introduced to support kids in foster care.

It’s called the Foster Youth Mentoring Act, and it would help local organizations expand mentoring programs for young people in foster care. For so many kids, having a consistent, caring mentor can be life-changing — improving school attendance, boosting college enrollment, and building the confidence they need to thrive.

This is an issue Mary Gay is fiercely passionate about, and she asked me to share these important reasons why this bill really matters:

* Foster youth often face even steeper challenges — like frequent moves and limited access to supportive adults.
