Dear Supporter,

Did you see Max’s recent email? We need to be certain that Congress hears from people like you who have paid into and are counting on their earned benefits in retirement — and not those who falsely claim Social Security and Medicare are the reason for today’s historic federal debt. Help us ensure your voice is fully represented in Washington, DC by signing our Urgent Petition to Congress TODAY! ( [link removed] ) If you have already signed it: Thank you.

Please also consider making a donation in whatever amount you can afford ( [link removed] ) to support our fight on Capitol Hill to protect Social Security and Medicare benefits for millions of older Americans.

Dear Supporter,

Threats to earned benefits haven’t taken the summer off. In fact, Social Security and Medicare remain the target of hardliners in Congress and in the Trump Administration who are determined to scale back these vital programs.

This summer, we need to take a firm stand for Social Security and Medicare — benefits that over a lifetime are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to you and your family. Specifically, I need you to remind your congressional lawmakers that slashing earned benefits to pay down the national debt or fund massive tax breaks that mainly benefit the very wealthy and huge corporations is NOT a plan you support.

That’s why I urge you to sign our Petition to Congress today ( [link removed] ), telling your members of Congress to protect — not cut — Social Security and Medicare. When your lawmakers return from summer recess, we want to ensure they see that large numbers of their constituents have signed onto this petition. The more petitions in their inbox, the more seriously they will take this issue!

At a time when many seniors are struggling to afford the rising cost of everyday essentials like eggs, meat and coffee, some lawmakers are backing proposals that would open the door to privatization and make it difficult for seniors to access the programs and services they need to stay healthy, nourished and financially secure.

It’s extremely important that your lawmakers hear from people like you, the people who have paid into and are counting on their earned benefits in retirement!

Please sign our Petition to Congress ( [link removed] ) right now — and officially go on the record with your elected representatives that you reject harmful benefit cuts and dangerous privatization schemes.

We’re aiming for at least 50,000 signatures to make lawmakers sit up and take notice. This summer, with so much at stake, we cannot afford to be complacent!

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO
