He served on the House Intelligence Committee for a decade with Schiff. And in so doing, he yet again revealed himself as premier despicable member of congress, willing to lie to maintain power. Himes was on Adam Schiff's House Intel Committee since 2013, and Ranking Member since Jan. 2023 By Bob MacGuffie Word of California senator Adam Schiff’s long-coming reckoning with the law has been spreading through the media for a week. What many of us oxygen-breathing observers have long deduced has been confirmed by a whistleblower - a former Democrat staffer for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. The whistleblower has been notifying the FBI since 2017 and documenting Schiff’s leaking of classified intelligence to no avail, but under Kash Patel’s leadership, the whole illegal and possibly treasonous affair has been revealed to the public. And the whistleblower’s contentions are backed up by the FBI releasing the 302 notes documenting the many FBI interviews with the whistleblower. See John Solomon’s news-breaking report here. The blockbuster revelation is that Adam Schiff arranged for Democrat members, most assuredly notorious leaker Eric Swalwell, of the Intel committee to leak to the media selected classified information, designed to smear Trump and his campaign as “colluding with Russia” to win the 2016 election for Hillary. The whistleblower staffer personally attended a meeting where Schiff planned the release of classified information. Quoting the FBI 302 notes, “When working in this capacity, (redacted staffer’s name) was called to an all-staff meeting by Schiff. In this meeting, Schiff stated the group would leak classified information which was derogatory to President Donald Trump. Schiff stated the information would be used to indict President Trump. The whistleblower told the FBI that he “stated this would be illegal and, upon hearing his concerns, unnamed members of the meeting reassured that they would not be caught leaking classified information.” It’s all in the FBI notes, 302- Dec 5, 2017. Enter Jim Himes and his knowledge and role in this highly illegal conspiracy to defraud the citizenry. Himes, a staunchly loyal Pelosi lieutenant, was placed on the House Intel Committee by Pelosi in 2013. Slick talker that he is, he soon became Schiff’s right hand – Schiff had been on the Committee since ’07, was Ranking Member, and became its Chair in Jan.’19. As Schiff began to unfurl his collusion media strategy to paint Trump as a Russian asset, he regularly took to the microphones in the U.S. Capitol to hold impromptu press conferences as the Democrats exited the hearing rooms. If you watched these performances at that time, as I did, Jim Himes was always at Schiff’s side or right behind him. The picture below is typical of dozens of such pop-up pressers (Himes to the right, Swalwell to the left). Himes never looked enthusiastic at these pressers. In fact, he looked extremely uncomfortable, with his Adam’s apple bobbing throughout, as he swallowed nervously. He KNEW Schiff was lying. But he wouldn’t stop Schiff, he wouldn’t resign from the Committee, he wouldn’t publicly disavow Schiff’s statements. No – being Jim Himes, he wouldn’t do anything of integrity or honesty, or bravery in any form. Instead, reptilian cultivator of power and influence that he is, he regularly sat right next to Schiff on the dais, as Schiff chaired hundreds of committee meetings as in the below, while he deceived and lied to both congress and the public. Interestingly, though cable news has been showing clips of Schiff’s pressers with Himes over the past week, they are suddenly “video unavailable” when I tried to access those specific videos for this article. There are videos available of Himes insinuating Russian collusion, charging Russia with election meddling, referencing the classified leaks, and labeling the fraudulent Steele dossier a mere ‘distraction’ in his following linked media appearances: NBC - C-SPAN - MSNBC. Each interview wreaks with insincerity, putting on display his patented word-smithing, verbal jujitsu, and straight-up gaslighting – all with the intent of misleading his constituents and the general public. Himes was too clever to visibly enmesh himself in Schiff’s web of seditious lies about what the classified intel showed. But being joined at the hip with Schiff on the Intel Committee during all the critical years, until Himes himself became Ranking Member in ’23, Himes had first-hand knowledge of all aspects of Schiff’s extensive operation - and it’s documented in this recently declassified 302- Dec 5, 2017. On page 11, while Schiff is briefing the Committee Democrats on his scheme, Himes asks Schiff, “what is your strategy, why are you going after Trump?” See 302 notes Page 11. Before that meeting was over, Schiff acknowledged to the Democrats there was nothing in hand that would warrant impeachment. Himes’ challenging of Schiff indicates he well-knew there was no evidence of collusion, and that Schiff’s public statements, made standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Himes, were lies designed to cripple Trump and his Administration. But Himes made a calculated decision to stand with Schiff for six years, until it all culminated in Schiff’s disgrace, as he was formally Censured by Congress on June 23, 2023 – a very rare congressional chastisement. And just before that Censure, Jim Himes took one more opportunity to bold-face lie to the Congress and the public when he stated to the entire House, “I sat next to Adam Schiff for years. He is a man of integrity and dignity.” For Himes, lying through his teeth is just another day at the office. As I’ve noted in many previous articles, Jim Himes has been lying to his 700,000 constituents consistently for the 16+ years he’s been in office. And his lies have become increasingly consequential. For years he lied to us about Joe Biden’s mental impairment, then a year ago when Biden’s reelection bid became untenable, he lied claiming it was the first he knew, when he publicly called for Biden to step aside. Now this treacherous episode of vouching for Schiff’s veracity by standing with him as he lied for six years straight. Mr. Himes has long ago broken the public trust, and has so much for which to answer. But his much-deserved reckoning cannot be brought about from this corner or this publication alone. He is protected by the Fairfield County based, progressive-owned local electronic media and Hearst Connecticut Media Group which owns 13 of the 17 town papers in the Fourth District. These outlets serve as a protective cloak for him, keeping average citizens in the dark, and effectively keeping him in power.
